Daikin FTKD50AV1H 2 HP 420 R32 Inverter Cooling-only Wall-mounted Split Air Conditioner

The Daikin FTKD50AV1H has the highest cooling capacity in the FTKD cooling-only range. It is a 2 HP R32 inverter cooling-only wall-mounted split air conditioner suited to larger spaces. The outdoor unit is 420mm high and can be installed in the position of an existing window unit.

17,100 BTU/h cooling capacity, maximum airflow up to 16.99m³/min

Rated cooling capacity is 5.01kW. The air outlet has large dual-layer airflow flaps and an extra-wide airflow angle, and the flaps swing automatically up and down and left and right, distributing air evenly to every corner of the room with 3D all-round airflow. The indoor unit noise level is 36-43dB(A).

If wall space is limited, compare the 1.5 HP FTKD35AV1H in the same series: cooling capacity 11,000 BTU/h, indoor unit 770mm wide. When choosing the horsepower, consider not only the room size but also the number of occupants, sunlight and insulation; west-facing rooms, top-floor rooms and rooms often used by several people may need a higher cooling capacity.

420mm-high outdoor unit, maximum piping length 25m

The outdoor unit measures 765 x 420 x 291mm (W x H x D) and weighs 27kg; it suits narrow window ledges and can be installed on the existing window unit platform. The pipe and cable connection point is at the back of the outdoor unit, so the connection work can be done from indoors and scaffolding may not be needed, depending on actual circumstances and the building structure.

This model has a maximum piping length of 25m and a maximum height difference of 15m; the FTKD20ABV1H, FTKD25AV1H and FTKD35AV1H in the same series have 20m and 10m respectively.

Grade 1 energy label, annual cooling energy consumption 545kWh

Inverter technology controls the compressor speed to keep the room at the set temperature, without the repeated starting and stopping of a fixed-speed unit, which reduces energy consumption. CSPF is 4.6445 and rated cooling power input is 1,840W. It also has inverter powerful mode and energy-saving mode.

Gin-ION silver-ion filter and Daikin Mobile Controller (optional)

The Gin-ION filter uses silver ions to break down and deactivate viruses attached to the filter surface and to inhibit bacterial growth on the filter, and it also filters dust, pollen and allergens.

It comes with an ARC485B1 wireless remote control with luminous buttons. Daikin Mobile Controller is an optional feature: with an internet connection and wireless LAN coverage at home, you can use your phone to switch the unit on and off, set the mode and temperature, schedule a weekly timetable and monitor it remotely. Other functions include sleep mode, programme dry and a 24-hour on/off timer.

• The indoor unit measures 990 x 297 x 273mm (W x H x D) and weighs 12kg; at nearly 1 m wide, it is advisable to measure the wall position before installation.
• Pipe sizes: liquid pipe 6.4mm, gas pipe 12.7mm.
• R32 is a mildly flammable refrigerant. It must be installed and serviced by technicians with relevant experience, who must confirm the indoor unit installation height and the minimum room area.
• Warranty: the indoor unit and outdoor unit must be purchased together. Register online with Daikin within 1 month of purchase to receive a 2-year full unit warranty and 5-year compressor warranty; without registration the warranty is 12 months.
