Rasonic RIC-SD37G2 Built-in/Freestanding Kitchen Two-Zone Induction Hob (20A)

The Rasonic RIC-SD37G2 arranges its two IH zones one behind the other in a body only 300mm wide, with a total rated power of 3700W. It suits kitchens that need two cooking zones but have limited worktop width.

Front and rear zones, taking up just 300mm of worktop width

The two zones are set one in front of the other, so they do not need to sit side by side. The body is about 520mm deep, so it works on a long, narrow worktop that is deep enough. It can be used freestanding or built into a cabinet.

Each zone has its own zone key, plus and minus keys and timer key, with 8 power levels each, so the front and rear can be adjusted separately to suit the dish. Each zone can have its own timer from 1 minute to 8 hours, and when the countdown ends the hob beeps and stops heating. After level 8 has been used continuously for about 10 minutes, power is reduced automatically.

A dedicated switch rated 20A or above must be in place before installation

The hob has no 13A plug. A qualified electrician must wire it to a fixed connection through a dedicated switch, with proper earthing.

The anti-slip panel helps reduce cookware sliding. For the child safety lock, hold for 2 seconds to lock all function keys, and hold for another 2 seconds to unlock. If there is no suitable cookware on the hob, or the cookware is removed during cooking, the hob beeps and flashes; if no suitable cookware is placed on it within 1 minute, it returns to standby.

If no key is pressed and no timer is set within 120 minutes of heating, the hob beeps and stops heating. When the hob surface is at about 50°C or above, "H" is displayed to remind users not to touch it. The hob has a Grade 2 energy label and a thermal efficiency of 88.2%, with annual energy consumption of 805kWh, which helps with budgeting for electricity.

Before you buy

• Body size is about 300mm wide, 520mm deep and 80mm high.
• Built-in installation needs a cut-out 270mm wide x 490mm deep; leave at least 100mm of space around the body. For built-in use, also allow at least 150mm of height below and an air inlet/outlet of at least 80cm².
• A fixed wiring connection is required, supplied through a dedicated switch of 20A or above and installed by a qualified electrician; there is no 13A plug.
• Cookware must be flat-bottomed and suitable for induction hobs; iron or magnetic stainless steel pans both work. The base diameter is 120-200mm for the front zone and 120-160mm for the rear zone, with a maximum of 6kg per zone including the food.
