The Philips HD7000/90 is a 1.5L IH micro-pressure induction rice cooker built around patented reducing sugar control steaming and dual-layer simultaneous cooking. It suits households where some people want low-sugar rice and others prefer ordinary soft, tender rice.

Patented reducing sugar control steaming, for less gelatinised rice

The patented steamer pot cooks rice by steaming. Steam circulates inside the pot and heats every grain evenly, reducing over-gelatinisation. In external laboratory testing based on technical specifications from an authoritative body, using a specific rice variety, the reducing sugar in the rice fell by 31% and resistant starch rose by 152%.

When family members have different tastes, there is no need to cook separately: the smart heating system cooks rice with different flavours in the upper and lower layers at the same time. The patented hollow insulated steamer pot optimises the heating structure so rice cooks evenly with no hard centres. While the rice retains its water, the rice at the bottom does not turn overly soggy, so the texture is consistent from top to bottom.

1100Pa micro-pressure steaming for soft, tender, sweet rice

Micro-pressure lets steam soak through to the centre of each grain, so every grain absorbs enough water. The water-film cooking technology then lets moisture seep evenly into the grains, giving soft, springy rice that does not turn dry or hard. The patented moisture-locking valve raises the humidity inside the inner pot, so rice still keeps its texture after standing for 6 hours.

Both inner pots are uncoated, while the lid and steam tray are made of 304 stainless steel. The whole cooking surface carries 6,000 micro-arcs, forming a patented water-film shield texture (figures from external laboratory testing); combined with air-cooling technology, it prevents sticking so every grain stays evenly moist. The inner pot can go in a dishwasher for easy cleaning after meals.

Staple modes include white rice and low-sugar rice, as well as brown rice, mixed grain rice, claypot rice and congee; further modes cover soup, braising and steaming, and there are also reheat and keep-warm settings. An imported sensor matches the rice-to-water ratio to the amount of rice, and an algorithm then controls cooking for consistent results.
