Panasonic FV-23BWN3H Window-Mounted nanoe® X Thermo Ventilator 1400W

The Panasonic FV-23BWN3H is a window-mounted nanoe® X thermo ventilator that combines heating, clothes drying, ventilation and circulation in one unit, with a dedicated nanoe® X mode. Its slim body fits a small window, making it suitable for homes that want a dry bathroom with fewer musty and other odours.

nanoe® X generates 9.6 trillion hydroxyl radicals per second to actively inhibit viruses and bacteria

Panasonic states that nanoe® X has 20 times as many hydroxyl radicals as nanoe®, and can effectively inhibit up to 99.99% of viruses and bacteria, including H1N1, H5N1, O157 and drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. nanoe® X also inhibits mould, reducing musty smells and mould spots in the bathroom. For deodorising, nanoe® X can remove damp odours and sweat smells from clothes, keeping the bathroom air fresh.

nanoe® X mode is switched on with a dedicated button on the remote control and can be timed for 15 minutes to 6 hours or run continuously, making it easy to inhibit bacteria in the bathroom. Unlike ordinary ion modules, the nanoe® X module does not need regular replacement.

Quick ventilation up to 260m³/h to clear bathroom moisture fast

Ventilation has 3 settings, low, high and quick ventilation, which can be switched according to bathroom humidity. Panasonic states that the ventilation rate is 18% higher than the previous FV-23BWN2H model. After a bath, both ventilation and quick ventilation can be set to run continuously, keeping the bathroom ventilated and dry.

1400W heating with hot start function, plus warm air and cool air clothes drying

If heating is switched on when the bathroom is below about 20°C, the hot start function runs at low speed first and switches to high speed only after about 60 seconds or when the room temperature rises above 20°C, so cold air is not blown out as soon as the unit starts. When the bathroom temperature reaches a certain level, the heater stops automatically and heats again after the temperature drops.

Clothes drying offers warm air drying and cool air drying. Warm air drying runs for up to 360 minutes, while cool air drying can run continuously. In humid weather, or when clothes cannot be hung outdoors, they can be dried in the bathroom. With auto swing airflow, the louvre swings between about 30° and 90°, and clothes hung within the central zone of about 1100mm catch the airflow easily; the airflow angle can also be fixed during heating and clothes drying. When drying clothes, keep them at least 200mm from the air outlet and leave at least 50mm between items.

Slim RF wireless remote control, with IPX4 splash resistance for both unit and remote control

The RF remote control must be paired with the main unit on first use. Each mode then reuses the run time last set, so there is no need to set it again each time. If the remote control is lost or not working, press the mode button on the unit's panel to switch on heating or ventilation temporarily, each run lasting 15 minutes.

The unit has an antibacterial filter, and a cleaning indicator light reminds users to clean it in good time.

Before you buy

• Minimum installation opening 238 x 242mm (W x H), panel 280 x 280mm, body depth 286mm.
• A window insert must be custom-made to suit the window frame structure; aluminium alloy less than 30mm thick is recommended.
• The product does not come with a power cord. It must be connected to fixed wiring, and an all-pole power switch and an earth leakage circuit breaker (leakage current of 30mA or below) must be bought separately.
• Install at least 200mm away from flammable materials such as curtains, and leave space between the unit and the ceiling so that the filter can be removed.
• If nanoe® X is not needed, consider the window-mounted JustFit thermo ventilator FV-23BW3H (1200W, same 260m³/h ventilation rate).
