Mitsubishi Electric MJ-EHV230JV-H 38L BIKUKAN 2-in-1 Air Purifying Dehumidifier

The Mitsubishi Electric MJ-EHV230JV-H, from the BIKUKAN series, is an air purifying inverter dehumidifier combining dehumidification, air purification and deodorising in one, removing 38L a day at 30°C and 80% RH. If someone at home smokes, you have pets or you cook often, and you also need to guard against damp in the humid season, one unit handles both moisture and odours.

Smart Auto's triple sensing with Smart Flaps dehumidifies and purifies automatically, 24 hours a day

Smart Auto mode monitors the room with a humidity sensor, an odour sensor and a high-sensitivity dust sensor, then decides automatically how to operate. When humidity is high and the air is clean, it only dehumidifies; when humidity is low and the air is polluted, it only purifies; when humidity is high and the air is also polluted, it dehumidifies and purifies at the same time.

The Smart Flaps on both sides of the unit open and close accordingly. When open, the unit favours dehumidification and runs more quietly than when closed; when closed, it favours air purification and purifies more strongly than when open. You do not need to switch modes yourself.

1+2 dehumidifying system, with the sub-condenser reduced from about 25mm to about 12mm

On top of the conventional double-structure design, this unit adds a sub-condenser and a bypass air path. Intake airflow therefore increases greatly and the cooling efficiency of the heat exchanger improves, helping to achieve both fast dehumidification and energy savings.

The slim sub-condenser keeps the unit light and compact while maintaining the heat exchange area and efficiency, and reduces air path resistance.

The inverter compressor runs at high speed at the start for powerful dehumidification, then slows down automatically once humidity stabilises to save power.

Air purifying filter and activated carbon filter: about 93% of allergens and about 98% of ammonia filtered

The air purifying filter helps remove cigarette smoke, dust, pollen and PM2.5 airborne particles, and filters about 93% of cat and dog allergens and dust mite allergens (tested to GB/T 18801-2022). On days when dehumidifying is not needed, air purification can run independently, with four settings to choose from: Auto, Strong, Medium and Weak.

The activated carbon filter handles deodorising: it reduces ammonia-type substances in pet and toilet odours by about 98%, acetaldehyde-type substances in smoke odour by about 84%, and acetic acid-type substances in cooking fumes and food waste odours by about 97% (tested to JEM1467 Annex B). The filter also removes formaldehyde.

Odour, PM2.5 and PM1.0 indicator lights, with automatic stop for clothes drying

On the high-brightness white LED panel, three sets of indicator lights show green for clean air and red for polluted air, so you can see the indoor air condition at a glance.

Clothes drying mode has two settings, Strong and Weak. Strong dries clothes quickly; Weak reduces operating noise, but takes longer to dry than Strong. The unit estimates how long your laundry needs to dry and stops automatically, running for a maximum of 12 hours, so you do not need to wait around.

Comparing the three BIKUKAN models

At 30°C and 80% RH, the MJ-EH142JV-H, MJ-EH155JV-H and MJ-EHV230JV-H remove 26L, 28L and 38L a day respectively, with recommended room areas at strong airflow of 59, 65 and 96m² in that order. The three models have the same dimensions, and only the MJ-EHV230JV-H uses an inverter compressor, so you can choose according to the size of your home.
