Mitsubishi Electric MSY-GS09VF 1HP Inverter Air Conditioner

The Mitsubishi Electric MSY-GS09VF is a 1 HP R32 inverter cooling-only split air conditioner with a rated cooling capacity of 2.55kW and a power input of 0.65kW, and it carries a Grade 1 energy label. The indoor unit noise level is as low as 21dB(A), suiting users who care about saving energy and also need a quiet environment at night.

2.55kW cooling capacity with a rated power input of only 0.65kW

According to the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) energy label records, the MSY-GS09VF has annual cooling energy consumption of 211kWh and a cooling seasonal performance factor (CSPF) of 6.1164, and its energy efficiency ratio (EER) also reaches 3.92. Inverter control saves more energy than a fixed-speed air conditioner, helping to cut electricity costs.

The 3/4 HP MSY-GS07VF in the same series has a rated power input of 0.69kW, so the MSY-GS09VF has the higher cooling capacity yet draws less power. The 1.5 HP MSY-GS12VF also uses an indoor unit of the same size, so if you need 3.40kW of cooling capacity, you do not have to set aside a wider installation space.

Dual Barrier Coating and Easy Clean design reduce dirt build-up in the indoor unit

The heat exchanger, fan and air duct surfaces of the indoor unit carry a Dual Barrier Coating, which combines fluoride particles with a hydrophilic film to effectively resist dust, fibre lint, cooking fumes and cigarette smoke sticking to them. With less dirt building up, the air conditioner helps deliver fresher air and also helps save energy.

The Easy Clean design lets you easily remove the main parts of the indoor unit and clear the dust inside yourself. Cleaning helps keep airflow normal and lowers the chance of bacteria growing.

The built-in anti-mould filter traps airborne dust and inhibits mould growth. Clean the filter regularly with a vacuum cleaner, or wash it in water and dry it in a cool, shaded place, and it can then be reused.

To improve indoor air quality further, optional filters are sold separately: a particle-capturing filter or an electrostatic antibacterial enzyme filter. The former uses static electricity to attract PM2.5 fine suspended particles in the air, while the latter can adsorb allergens and inhibit viruses and bacteria.

Indoor unit as low as 21dB(A), with Sleep Mode adjusting the temperature for sleep automatically

According to Mitsubishi Electric, the operating noise of the indoor unit is below the 25dB quiet standard for recording studios, so it stays quiet when switched on at night.

Switch on Sleep Mode before bed and, when cooling, the room temperature adjusts automatically to a temperature suited to sleeping, then returns to the original setting after about 2 hours; the airflow direction can also be adjusted to your preference. The 24-hour preset on/off timer can be matched to your bedtime, the time you arrive home or the time you get up, setting the unit to switch on and off in advance to help save energy.

Fast Cooling mode lasts 15 minutes, and i FEEL Control selects the mode according to room temperature

On hot days, switch on Fast Cooling mode and the compressor runs rapidly, operating with high airflow and low temperature so you feel cool quickly.

With i FEEL Control on, the air conditioner selects the operating mode automatically according to the room temperature; if you switch it back on within 2 hours of switching off, it reuses the previous mode, so there is no need to set it again.

Up/down airflow swings automatically, while left/right airflow direction is adjusted manually. In humid weather, you can switch on independent computer-controlled dehumidification during cooling (0.63L per hour) to reduce indoor humidity.

Outdoor unit 730 x 420mm (W x H), suitable for most air conditioner window-ledge installations

The drain tray channels condensate into the base pan of the outdoor unit, effectively reducing leaks; the drain nozzle angle is adjustable, so connecting a drain hose carries the condensate away and lowers the risk of flooding. The body has an anti-corrosion blue coating, together with a rust-proof oil-treated casing and a galvanised steel base pan, to reduce corrosion of the outdoor unit.

Refrigerant piping can be up to 20m long, with a height difference of up to 12m between the indoor and outdoor units, making it convenient to position the two units to suit the layout of your home. The circuit board has a protective coating that guards against damp and insects damaging components and withstands voltages of up to 450V; even when the voltage is between 198V and 242V, the inverter keeps running smoothly.
