Kärcher SC 1 Multi & Up Handheld Steam Cleaner

The Kärcher SC 1 Multi & Up is a German-made 4-in-1 steam cleaner. On its own it is a handheld steam cleaner; add the steam pipes and the EasyFix Large floor nozzle and it becomes a steam mop, and the main unit can be mounted in three positions. With 1300W heating and a 30-second wait before use, it suits households that want one machine for hard floors and kitchen and bathroom surfaces.

Used on its own, the main unit is a lightweight handheld steam cleaner. With 3bar steam pressure, the handheld nozzle and a microfibre cover, it cleans taps and fittings, sinks, wall tiles, windows and glass, and even cooker hoods and hobs.

For floors, attach 2 steam pipes of 0.5m each and the EasyFix Large floor nozzle to clean hard floors that are suitable for steam cleaning, with no need for a separate steam mop.

Suitable hard surfaces are cleaned using only water heated into steam, with no added chemical cleaner. With maximum steam output applied directly to a hard surface and moved at 30cm per second, it removes 99.99% of common household bacteria (tested with Enterococcus hirae). With maximum steam output applied directly to a surface and held in one spot for 30 seconds, it removes up to 99.999% of enveloped viruses (tested with MVA).

Three mounting positions for the main unit, for easy reach under furniture or upright storage

When used as a steam mop, the main unit can be mounted in the top, middle or bottom position. In the highest position, the mop is easier to push under furniture for cleaning. In the middle position, it is flexible to control and comfortable to hold. In the lowest position, the mop is lighter and can stand upright by itself when you stop.

The EasyFix Large floor nozzle has a flexible joint that makes it easy to steer when pushing and pulling. The floor cloth is held on with hook-and-loop fasteners, so you do not need to touch the dirty cloth when changing it.

Only 30 seconds to heat up, with a 200ml detachable water tank you can refill at any time

1300W heating power means the machine is ready to use in just 30 seconds, so a quick clean of a hob or sink does not mean a long wait.

One fill of the 200ml detachable water tank cleans about 30m². When the water runs out, remove the tank and refill it at any time to carry on cleaning without interruption. The 5m power cable comes with a hook-and-loop strap, so you can bundle it up neatly after use.

One light press for steam, and an LED that shows when to replace the descaling cartridge

The LED control panel starts steam with one light press, without needing any force. The panel shows states such as heating, ready, steam mode and the need to replace the cartridge, so you can see at a glance whether the machine is ready to use.

The replaceable descaling cartridge inside the machine removes limescale automatically, extending the life of the machine by up to 5 times.

• Do not use on wooden or parquet floors that have not been varnished and sealed, painted or plastic-coated surfaces, or surfaces that are not suitable for washing with water.
• When the LED shows that the cartridge needs replacing, fit a new descaling cartridge.
