Hitachi LTL 08SM00 WH1 8kg Smart Wash Fully Automatic Top-loading Washing Machine (Combined High/Low Drain)

The Hitachi LTL 08SM00 WH1 is an 8kg top-loading washing machine that combines high and low drain positions in one machine, so installation is not limited by where the drain pipe is. Smart Wash load sensing, together with the quick wash and half-load programmes, suits homes where drain positions are limited, or households with small daily loads that want to save washing time.

3-side drain outlet and 3m power cord for flexible positioning

On this white WH1 version, the drain outlet can be set on the left, right or rear, and the power cord is up to 3m long, so you can position the machine to suit the drain and socket locations in your home.

Smart Wash load sensing and soak function

Smart Wash adjusts the water level automatically according to the weight of the laundry to save water; if you prefer to decide yourself, you can also select from 10 water levels manually. For stubborn stains, choose a soak of 15 to 45 minutes first. The machine fills with water before washing so that clothes soak in the detergent, and turns the drum gently to treat stains.

19-minute quick wash and 28-minute half-load programme

For a small load of everyday clothes or casual wear, the quick wash handles up to 2kg and keeps clothes fresh and tidy. With slightly more laundry, switch to the half-load programme for up to 4kg for a quick, simple wash.

There are 8 programmes in total, including powerful, delicates, blankets, jeans and drum clean, to choose by type of laundry. The delay timer works in 1-hour steps up to 24 hours, so you can set when the wash finishes to fit your routine.

Air Jet assisted drying and automatic balancing system

The maximum spin speed is 760rpm. For loads of no more than 2kg, you can also choose 30 or 60 minutes of Air Jet. The drum spins at high speed to remove excess water from clothes and shorten drying time on the line.

If the laundry becomes unevenly distributed during washing and the drum goes out of balance, the automatic balancing system redistributes the load to reduce vibration and noise, and also helps improve durability.

Soft-closing tempered glass lid and drawer-type detergent dispenser

The clear tempered glass lid is durable and easy to clean, effectively resists scratching, and lets you see the whole wash at a glance. The soft-closing lid lowers slowly, improving safety and quietness; the lid stays locked during washing, and a child lock is also provided.

Detergent and fabric softener go in the same drawer-type dispenser for accurate pouring, and the softener is added automatically during the final rinse. The wide opening and shallow drum mean you do not need to stretch or bend excessively when loading and unloading clothes.

Before you buy

• Dimensions 540 x 892 x 565mm (W x H x D, excluding drain hose); width including drain hose 610mm; height with the lid open 1310mm, so leave space above the installation position.
• Leave at least 9cm on each side when installing, and at least 10cm at the rear when there is a water supply hose; the drain hose must be hung up when in use, at a height of no more than 1.2m.
