Daikin FTXD25AV1H 1 HP 420 R32 Inverter Heat Pump Wall-mounted Split Air Conditioner

The Daikin FTXD25AV1H is a 1 HP R32 inverter heat pump wall-mounted split air conditioner in the 420 series: one unit handles cooling in summer and heating in winter. Its outdoor unit is 418mm high and can be installed on the existing window unit platform, suiting households that want to replace a window unit with a cooling and heating split system.

Rated cooling capacity is 2.58kW and heating capacity is 3.22kW. CSPF is 5.4927 and HSPF is 4.8049; annual cooling energy consumption is 237kWh and heating 29kWh.

Inverter technology controls the compressor speed to keep the room at the set temperature, without the repeated starting and stopping of a fixed-speed unit, which reduces energy consumption. It has auto cooling/heating changeover; when heating with the heat pump, it takes about 3 minutes to warm up after switching on before warm air is delivered.

If you need a higher cooling and heating capacity, consider the 1.5 HP FTXD35AV1H in the same series (cooling 11,000, heating 14,400 BTU/h); if you only need cooling, you can choose the 1 HP cooling-only model FTKD25AV1H. When choosing the horsepower, consider not only the room size but also the number of occupants, sunlight and insulation; west-facing rooms, top-floor rooms and rooms often used by several people may need a higher cooling capacity.

Outdoor unit 695mm wide, the narrowest of the three FTXD models

The outdoor unit measures 695 x 418 x 244mm (W x H x D) and weighs 20kg, suited to narrow window ledges. The outdoor units of the FTXD35AV1H and FTXD50AV1H in the same series are 765mm wide and 420mm high.

The pipe and cable connection point is at the back of the outdoor unit and can be reached from indoors, simplifying the work and reducing the space required; scaffolding may not be needed during installation, depending on actual circumstances and the building structure.

Streamer discharge and Gin-ION silver-ion filter

In the 420 series, only the FTXD cooling and heating models have Streamer discharge, which releases high-speed electrons during discharge to oxidise and break down harmful chemicals, thereby killing bacteria and eliminating odours. The Gin-ION silver-ion filter works mainly on the filter surface: it breaks down and deactivates viruses attached to the filter, destroys the cell membranes of bacteria, and filters dust, pollen and allergens.

3D all-round airflow and Daikin Mobile Controller

The power-airflow flap works with the extra-wide airflow angle to swing automatically up and down and left and right, distributing air evenly to every corner of the room with 3D all-round airflow. Maximum airflow is 10.76m³/min for cooling and 9.62m³/min for heating, and the indoor unit noise level is 28-40dB(A).

Daikin Mobile Controller is standard. With an internet connection and wireless LAN coverage at home, you can use your phone to switch the unit on and off, set the mode and temperature, schedule a weekly timetable and monitor the air conditioner remotely. An ARC485B2 remote control with luminous buttons is also included.

Before you buy

• The indoor unit measures 770 x 288 x 234mm (W x H x D) and weighs 9.5kg.
• Maximum piping length is 20m and maximum height difference is 10m.
• When defrosting during heating, the frost on the outdoor unit melts into water; when cooling or dehumidifying, moisture in the air also condenses into water on the refrigerant pipes of the outdoor unit.
• R32 is a mildly flammable refrigerant. It must be installed and serviced by technicians with relevant experience, who must confirm the indoor unit installation height and the minimum room area.
• Warranty: the indoor unit and outdoor unit must be purchased together. Register online with Daikin within 1 month of purchase to receive a 2-year full unit warranty and 5-year compressor warranty; without registration the warranty is 12 months.
