Audeze Maxwell 2 Wireless Gaming Headset

The Audeze Maxwell 2 wireless gaming headset has a 90mm planar driver in each ear cup and a closed-back design. It connects over a 2.4GHz wireless dongle, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C or 3.5mm, and plays wirelessly for more than 80 hours at 80dBA volume.

90mm planar drivers, with a frequency range of 10Hz-50kHz

The left and right ear cups of the Maxwell 2 each have a 90mm planar (planar magnetic) driver, using an Ultra-Thin Uniforce diaphragm, a Fluxor magnet array and N50 neodymium magnets, together with SLAM acoustic management technology. The frequency range is 10Hz-50kHz.

The Audeze app has EQ and sidetone settings, and supports Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. While gaming, you can also switch EQ presets with the volume wheel on the ear cup.

4 ways to connect: 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, USB-C and 3.5mm

For gaming, connect with low latency through the USB-C 2.4GHz wireless dongle. Bluetooth 5.3 supports the SBC, AAC, LDAC, LC3 and LC3plus codecs, as well as LE Audio and Auracast.

You can also connect by wire using USB-C or 3.5mm. Bluetooth can play audio at the same time as a wired connection, for example when you connect a games console by wire and your phone over Bluetooth at the same time.

Tempest 3D on the PlayStation version, built-in Dolby Atmos on the PC/Xbox version

The Maxwell 2 comes in a PlayStation version and a PC/Xbox version, which differ in spatial audio and the wireless dongle. The PlayStation version supports Tempest 3D on the PS5, and the PC/Xbox version includes a Dolby Atmos licence.

The PlayStation version connects to a PS5 through the wireless dongle, a USB wired connection, or 3.5mm through a compatible controller. The PC/Xbox version connects through the wireless dongle, or through 3.5mm via a compatible controller to an Xbox Series S|X. Both versions support Game/Chat mixing, and the ear cups have a Game/Chat balance wheel.

Detachable hypercardioid microphone with FILTER AI, switching automatically to the built-in microphones when removed

A detachable hypercardioid directional microphone is included, with a pop filter, and FILTER AI removes background noise.

When you remove the microphone, the headset automatically switches to the beamforming microphone array built into the ear cups. The right ear cup has a microphone mute switch.

More than 80 hours of wireless playback at 80dBA volume, and 560g overall

The built-in 1800mAh battery plays wirelessly for more than 80 hours at 80dBA volume and charges over USB-C.

The whole headset weighs 560g. The headband has a widened, ventilated design, and the ear pads attach magnetically.

Before you buy

• Choose the version to match your games console. The wireless dongles for the PlayStation version and the PC/Xbox version are each dedicated to that version and cannot be swapped, and pairing the dongle from the wrong version may cause firmware incompatibility.
• The 2.4GHz wireless dongle and Bluetooth cannot play audio at the same time. Simultaneous playback is limited to Bluetooth plus a wired connection.
• LDAC, LE Audio and Auracast require a supported playback device.
• The package includes a detachable microphone (with pop filter), a USB-C wireless dongle, a USB-C to USB-C cable (1.5m), a USB-C to USB-A adapter cable (0.3m) and a 3.5mm cable (1.2m).
• 1-year warranty.
