Panasonic CS-U12CWA 1.5 HP R32 Cooling-only Inverter Window Split Air Conditioner

Panasonic CS-U12CWA offers 1.5 HP cooling capacity, yet its indoor unit is the same size as that of the 1 HP CS-U9CWA in the same series. This inverter cooling-only window split air conditioner suits rooms with limited wall space that need more cooling capacity than the CS-U9CWA provides.

1.5 HP cooling, with an indoor unit that takes up only 798mm of wall width

The CS-U12CWA has a rated cooling capacity of 3.52kW (12,015 BTU/h), against 2.65kW for the CS-U9CWA, yet both indoor units measure 798 x 295 x 235mm (W x H x D). The indoor unit of the 2 HP CS-U18CWA in the same series is 890mm wide. Where the wall is not that wide, the CS-U12CWA gives more cooling capacity within the size of the 1 HP model.

Outdoor unit 458mm deep, 197mm shallower than a 1.5 HP window air conditioner

Compared with the Panasonic 1.5 HP window air conditioner CW-SU120AA (560 x 346 x 655mm, W x H x D), the CS-U12CWA outdoor unit is 548mm wide, which is 12mm narrower, and 197mm shallower, so it takes up less depth on the window ledge.

The outdoor unit is 372mm high, 26mm taller than the CW-SU120AA, so if you are reusing the position of a window air conditioner, measure the height of the window opening first. The 1 HP CS-U9CWA in the same series has an outdoor unit 443mm wide and the 2 HP CS-U18CWA is 651mm wide, so you can choose the suitable model by the width of the space reserved.

nanoe® X antibacterial action, nanoe-G air purification with negative ions

When the weather cools and you do not need cooling, you can run nanoe® X and nanoe-G on their own to purify the air; the unit then operates in fan mode. Before leaving the air conditioner unused for a long time, run nanoe mode for 2 to 3 hours first to remove residual moisture inside the unit and prevent microbes from growing.

AEROWINGS dual air deflectors, plus sleep, quiet and dehumidify modes

AEROWINGS is Panasonic's new airflow design. The indoor unit has dual air deflectors for flexible airflow. Adjust the left and right deflectors manually to the direction you want; when cooling or dehumidifying, set the airflow direction to auto and the up-down louvres will swing automatically to distribute the air.

When you get home and want to cool the room quickly, switch on quick cooling (POWERFUL) to reach the set temperature rapidly. At night, quiet mode reduces airflow noise, while sleep mode automatically adjusts temperature, airflow and airflow direction to avoid overcooling. In humid weather you can use dehumidify mode, in which the unit runs at low speed with gentle cooling; its dehumidifying capacity is 2.0L per hour.

The 24-hour timer can set two sets of on and off times that repeat daily, and the on-timer can start the unit up to 30 minutes early so that the set temperature is reached on time. After you buy and install the Wi-Fi adapter CZ-TACG1 separately, you can use the Panasonic Comfort Cloud App.

Based on the energy label, the CS-U12CWA annual cooling energy consumption is 342kWh, which you can use to compare power consumption with other air conditioners.

When choosing an air conditioner, consider the number of occupants, sunlight and insulation as well as room area; west-facing rooms, top-floor rooms or rooms often used by many people may need higher cooling capacity, so assess your actual conditions before buying.
